Hello! I'm Rob. Recruitment has taken on a new dimension at Sondrel. Due to recent growth, the company has invested in its hiring resources.

This has led to my appointment as Recruiter for EMEA & India. I'm enjoying the opportunity of being Sondrel’s main port of call for recruitment and support our hiring activity drive. It is an exciting time to join the Sondrel team!

I aim to publish regular blogs - to help keep you up to date with the latest vacancies across my regions, and to give you some insight into what it's like to work for Sondrel. Why not sign up to receive regular blog notifications? It's an easy way for news and a regular vacancy summary to go straight to your inbox. And if you happen to be looking in China for career opportunities, my colleagues can sign-post you to all their news on WeChat - just search for 'Sondrel' on your WeChat App!

My personal journey that brought me here to Sondrel began when Jackie Cullen, our HR Manager, headhunted me for the role. I was working as a Senior Account Manager for a recruitment agency in Reading, UK where I had spent the last 5 years. The knowledge, experience and skill-set that I gained from my previous role has given me an ideal grounding to help progress Sondrel’s recruitment plans and processes.

I love a challenge! Do you? Challenges can either inspire you or faze you. Our future plans at Sondrel offer plenty of room for personal and professional growth amongst our employees. If you are ajunior candidate a career at Sondrel would offer you the chance to develop your skill-set, learn from a world-leading team of engineers on exciting projects. If you are a senior and experienced candidate then Sondrel could offer you the opportunity to build and develop your own team.

In addition to first class industry exposure, being a Sondrel employee offers you many other excellent benefits:

  • We offer employees a £500 referral bonus for recommending candidates
  • The chance to work in other parts of the world in our design centres located in the UK, China, India and Morocco
  • The opportunity for rapid career progression with good opportunities to advance due to our growth plans
  • Quarterly grading reviews for our engineering team
  • Being part of a multi-cultural and inclusive environment that embraces the contributions made by everyone.

Sondrel is a company that prides itself on providing a positive working environment for its employees. I have recently taken on the role as Chairman of the Sondrel Social Committee for the Theale, UK office and we hold events such as go-karting, badminton, bowling and lunches. Events like this are not only great for team building but also help to develop and maintain the jovial atmosphere in the office. Things like this are a great advert for Sondrel and advertising what we have done is brilliant for showing potential recruits what life is like here.

How do I spend my spare time? It would be rude not to include some information about myself! I am a Norwich City season ticket holder, a volunteer signalman at the Great Cockcrow Railway in Surrey , and can be found trying to plot my next trips and adventures around Europe. How does this relate to IC design?? Without a microchip a lot of what I do and how I do it, personally and professionally would not be possible.

Sondrel is continuously working on exciting engineering projects. From SoCs for Virtual Reality Gaming, to Connected Bicycles, Machine Vision SoC Designs, and Autonomous Cars, you will be involved in developing the products of the future.

We have exciting plans at Sondrel. Be part of it!
