Sondrel are hiring an IT Manager to oversee the current IT team and to be responsible for resolving any IT-related faults and the provision of effective IT assistance across all aspects of the business by the formulation of an agreed plan and roadmap of works to be implemented in a controlled method. The position will be based in either the Theale or Kings Langley office, but will be required to travel between sites.


Responsibilities:

  • Overall managerial responsibility for the IT function across the company including the support, provision and maintenance of all the company’s IT systems, network and communications infrastructure on a day-to-day basis
  • To manage the development and implementation of new IT systems and processes such as new servers, Exchange migration, OS rollout, database implementation and contribute to decisions on IT budgeting as well forecasting and recommendations on IT strategy
  • To manage licences and support contracts on hardware and software and provide support and training regarding IT software and processes to users on site and using remote support tools
  • To lead the development and maintenance of the company network and VPN connections. To lead the diagnosis and resolution of technical issues including providing desktop and server support including hardware preparation, configuration and repair
  • Manage, maintain, develop and optimise company’s Salesforce database, maintain MS Server and Exchange, IT Infrastructure, Cloud Applications including installing software to laptops, maintain, manage and develop and optimise company’s Microsoft Office 365, SharePoint & One Drive IT infrastructure.
  • Manage & optimise company’s server infrastructure (Windows/Linux)
  • Assist with the resolution of service desk tickets using the ITIL processes within SLA time frames including implementing change control using the company’s ITIL Ticket system
  • To maintain and develop a disaster recovery plan while also managing, maintaining and developing IT security. Ensuring security and upgrades are applied and kept up to date on laptops including necessary Antivirus installations

    • Time flexibility and the ability to work well with people and to communicate with a large internal customer user base in Sondrel offices and other international project locations
    • Good managerial skills with the ability to handle conflicting IT priorities including identifying and resolving issues quickly
    • Work as part of a team to solve complex IT problems
    • Willingness to learn new IT technologies / improve knowledge base
    • Good at problem solving with the ability to explain technical problems in simple terms.
